This is our final cut of our opening movie sequence production
T
T
focusing more on the camera angle in the scene, we chose an angle looking down as our protagonist runs beneath and past this is because we didnt want to just use basic shots to show what was happening. The shot looking down shows her vulnerability, especially as she is running away from something/someone unkown.
this is a clip i feel the editing was very successful, first of all the character positioning and blocking is very effective, the over shoulder low angle shot looking down on the protagonist provides the sense of vulnerability while the large, up close antagonist ands a heavy, daunting disposition.
the original lighting of the scene is very low key and ominus, however the computer screens used at school show it better.
the music was chosen because it helps build and hold the desired tension we wanted, it mimics the fear of the protagonist as she tries to escape the situation.

I have chosen to show this particular shot because i feel the angle we have used has really helped us build up tension as our short film reaches a climax. Even though the shot is unedited, i think when we are finished with the change in lighting and sound editing, the tension will be increased greatly. The over shoulder angle looking back on the antagonist approaching is my favourite part about this scene as it reminds me of some typical thriller films

These are a fey KEY story board shots

These are just a few scenes we have planned to use in our opening. We feel in these two we will be able to create a very strong sense of tension.
With a mix of low key lighting, long shots looking down the corridor and perhaps the use of non diagetic sound we can build a very effective feeling of suspence.

This is the video displaying our chosen filming location(s)

Analysis of audience(s) - Feed back and Prep work

Primary target audience: 15-25 year old males

Secondary target audience: 15-25 year old females

Will we be heavily relying on social technologies like Facebook, Twitter, etc. These are popular in the age group of our target audiences and will also allow us to establish groups/pages/profiles specifically tailored to advertise and promote the film.

Q. Why will the film appeal to the target audience?
A. Mainly, because we are using youths in our picture. This will attract a younger audience as it will give them something to relate to. Examples of this working would be in popular thriller movies such as 'Scream' and 'A Nightmare On Elm Street (original and 2010 remake)'. Both of these movies feature teens as the main characters and as a result both of the production's revenues were largely made up of teens/young adults.
Because of our predetermined idea of what 'Lucid' will be compromised of, we will also be trying to attract audiences such as the 'Arthouse viewer' (Inception's targeted audience).

Q. Locations we will use for our setting:
A.This video shows some of the key locations we're going to use in our sequence, the corridor being the main focus. Other locations may also be used to complete the final opening, such as a bedroom. Obviously, we are being opportunistic, working with what locations we have, however, having said this, the location we're using does hold extreme potential:
